Several Rifles have Been Stolen at SANDF Base in Tshwane

The Democratic Alliances (DA) not happy with recent reports that have been confirmed by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) through a statement that powerful weapons were stolen at a military base in Tshwane.

The DA said speaking to another media house that this is just a mockery to the country’s safety and reputation to hear that a one body that is regarded as the protection for the country can be easily invaded like that.

Suspects alleged to have a hand in this have been taken in for questioning.

It is said that the perpetrators used a grinder to gain entry where 19 R4 rifles were taken.

“The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) herein confirms an incident of a break-in where weapons were stolen at Engineering Formation, Lyttelton Tek Base. Investigations are under way and a few suspects have been taken in for questioning,” said SANDF spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini.
