SANDF Personnel Delays China Repatriation Trip Amid Fears of Being Infected with Covid-19

South African National Defence Force (SANDF) personnel who have been selected to chart to China to repatriate 184 South Africans stuck in China are unwilling to embark on the trip on fears of being infected by the virus.

The said South Africans had asked the government to help them come back him on fears of contracting the Corona virus.

Ramaphosa had written a letter to Speaker of the Nstionsl Assembly Mme Thandi Modise about the trip.

President informed the National Assembly that the trip will cost R25 million to assist the Departments of Health and Department of International Relations and Co-operation (DIRCO) to return the South African citizens back to their county.

It was also said that these people would be quarantined in a specially selected area in Thaba Nchu in the Free State.

South Africa has only one confirmed positive testing of the virus in KwaZulu Natal since the out brake. The 38 years old man who boarded from a trip in Italy is now quarantined and receiving care.
