In response to the President’s plea for people to remain calm and Covid-19 free, South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has pleaded with to rather wait for before withdrawing money to avoid traffic.

This is also as President Ramaphosa declared this pandemic a national disaster and said people are not allowed to gather in groups of more than 100.

This also included religious gatherings.

Taking into consideration number of people who depend on Sassa grants, the agency advised people rather give each other time instead of gathering in mass to withdraw money.

“Once SASSA has paid money into a beneficiary’s account the money will stay there and can be accessed at any day of the month instead of taking a health risk of visiting an outlet on the first day of the month.”

They advised people not to rush to withdraw money on the first day when money is deposited into their accounts.
