Police Launch Manhunt for Suspects Involved in a Robbery in Marapyane

Police are looking for suspects involved in a robbery that occurred in Marapyane where victims were left helpless after being robbed of their belongings.

Mmametlhake Communications Officer Sgt Tlaki Matemane says the incident happened late evening hours of last week Wednesday.

“It is alleged by the aged 47years old complainant employed as a branch manager at Marapyane Post Office that on 2020-06-03 at about 23h00 she heard awkward noise coming from another room while sleeping in her rented room. She then saw three African males wearing balaclavas as she was attending to the noise.”

“They then instructed her to be silent and ordered her to hand over post office keys. The three suspects also demanded strongroom keys and passwords while pointing firearms towards her. The other victim who is also renting at the other room was also brought to her room and their hands and feet were both tied with cable ties.”

Officer Matemane added that two cell phones valued at R3500 and R1700 inside the purse, safe keys and passwords were taken.

Victims were rescued by the landlord who accompanied them to report the matter at Police station.

Suspects are still on the run and investigations on the matter are still proceeding.

Police urge anyone who might have information on the case to report to the nearest police station.
