Former President Jacob Zuma declines State of the Nation Address (SONA) invitation from his successor President Matamela Ramaphosa.

In a statement that was released by attorneys that are supposedly representing the former President, they said while Mr President has acknowledged receipt of the invitation, he won’t be able to attend due to dire medical reasons.

“As President Zuma’s attorneys of record, we have noted the statement attributed to the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, in which it is claimed that President Jacob Zuma will attend South African State of the Nation Address (” SONA”) taking place on 13 February 2020″

“We do not know how and where the Parliament obtained this incorrect information. The President is in a foreign country receiving medical attention” said a statement by Lungisani Mantsha Attorneys Inc.

This also follows a recent court case in which former president was supposed to attend but instead sent his representatives due to ill health.

It is said that Mr Zuma is currently in Cuba receiving medical attention.
