Speaker of National Assembly Mme Thandi Modise not moved by the threats made by the red berets Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) saying they will disrupt State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday.

EFF leader Julius Malema announced this past weekend during their press conference that the red berets would disrupt President Ramaphosa’s Sona in parliament in Cape Town on Thursday.

The party wants Ramaphosa to remove public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan.

They say the country together with its assets is going down because of Pravin Gordhan and Ramaphosa seems to be sleeping on the job.

Malema said Ramaphosa will not enjoy his parliament speech in peace until he removes Minister Gordhan.

Parliament’s spokesperson Moloto Mothapo also said that people have nothing to worry about everything is all set and ready for the SONA.

“We have got more than sufficient mechanisms in place to ensure that in any case of disruption or disorderliness, those rules are put in place and without any doubt, we can assure the nation that there will be the State of the Nation Address,” says Mothapo.
