Two suspects arrested in the Ditebogo Phalane murder

Almost a week later into the murder of a five (5) years old Ditebogo Phalane Jr, police in Gauteng said they have managed to do a positive breakthrough on the matter and 2 suspects said to be linked to the incident have been arrested.

“Gauteng police have arrested two suspects in connection with this case. The vehicle used during the hijacking  incident has been seized. A car jamming device, a firearm and a stolen vehicle was found in their possession” said police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.

Phalane Jr was murdered last week Friday during the time when his father was being robbed and hijacked at gunpoint as he was about to enter his yard.

Enraged by the ordeal, Police Minister Bheki Cele promised the Soshanguve community during his visit to the family earlier his week that those responsible will be brought to book. He promised more police visibility and specialized policing around the area to curb crime.

He is due to he buried on Friday.
