Learner dies after being stabbed by another learner in Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga Education MEC Lindi Masina has expressed great sadness and sent deepest condolences to the family of a grade 8 learner who lost his life after being stabbed by a fellow school mate this past Thursday on their home from school.

The learner, who was later named as Tshepo Tshabalala from Senzangakhona Secondary School in KwaMhlanga, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, was reported dead on the scene by emergency medical personnel who were summoned to the scene by the police.

Reports by the Education Department say that teachers were alerted about what had happened around 15:00 and rushed to the scene.

The MEC is set to pay the deceased family a visit on Monday morning and later on make way to school before meeting with district officials at KwaMhlanga government precinct.
