Daughters confess to killing their mother and pinning her down for their boyfriends to rape her. The 62 years old Wanter Dlamini who was found dead in a bush was strangled to death.
According to reports, Dlamini was invited by her 30-year-old daughter, Nonhlanhla Mthunywa, for a visit. Nonhlanhla apparently came with a male friend when she convinced her mom (Dlamini) about the intended visit and she agreed without any hesitation. Unbeknown to her, the said visit was a well-orchestrated plan that would lead to her ultimate death.
When the mother eventually arrived at the daughter’s place, she was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted, senselessly gang raped by the two male friends whilst Nonhlanhla, the daughter and her friend were holding her.
They then strangled her to death after raping her and hid her body behind the toilet wrapped in a blanket. The other sister later on allegedly arranged a transport for the body to be taken out to the bush after saying she can’t sleep.
A murder case was opened by the police after her body was discovered and further investigations revealed these gruesome acts where the daughter also confessed.
Police also found during further investigations that an insurance policy was opened in November last year by Nonhlanhla’s friend where it is said that they would receive double payment should the mother die of unnatural death.
Nonhlanhla made a brief appearance at Barberton Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga on Tuesday where she was remanded in custody until 05 February 2020. While the 39-year-old sister to Nonhlanhla was arrested same day and she is expected to appear in the same court today, 30 January.
Police have requested the insurance company to not issue payment claim.
They have launched a manhunt for the men involved.
