Court Appearance of Men Arrested in Mmametlhake on Stock Theft Charges

Court appearance of four men between the ages of 23 and 51 today who arrested this past Saturday in Mmametlhake around midnight in connection with stock theft.

Reports reveal that police in Mmametlhake were busy with their routine patrols near Nokaneng when they spotted a white Toyota Hilux bakkie which was parked next to the road.

They found a man inside the bakkoe when approached it and started questioning his business on the road at the time of the night when no one is allowed to be on the road during this lockdown.

The man kept on ignoring calls while being interrogated up until police told him to answer the call. That is when they heard the man on the other line saying to him “harry up come and load the stuff”.

The man on the other line tried to flee the scene after noticing that his accomplice was accompanied by the police.

A speed chase ensued until his was arrested. All these four suspects are set to appear in Mbibabana Magistrates Court with another charge of contravening the Disaster Management Act added on the stock theft charge.
