Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said Gauteng government will cover funeral costs of the 14 years girl who was raped and murdered in Soweto.
The body of the grade nine pupil from Aurora Girls High School was found near a river on Friday. According to the family, she went to nearby shops but never returned.
Speaking in a brief media with education MEC today the young girl’s grandmother said she is devastated by this ordeal and doesn’t understand what kind of an evil being can such a gruel thing to a little girl.
“I wish the law could act as soon as possible and they get life behind bars with no possibilities of bail.”
“They shouldn’t even be given an a visitation privilege from anyone because we were also robbed of our precious young girl” said the grandmother.
MEC Lesufi said they will be taking over counselling costs and any other cost related to the funeral.
The family pleaded with anyone who might have information about the case to help the police bring perpetrators to book.
