Despite the constant protest by unions on how the governing party has lost the plot or forgotten about the workers, Cosatu still has confidence in the party, ANC.
These words were echoed by the unions President Zungiswa Losi who called on their members to come out in numbers to vote for the ANC in the upcoming local government elections on November 1st.
Losi said this during her closing remarks on Thursday following the Federation’s seventh four-day Central Committee meeting.
She called said there has been discussions between the federation and it’s affiliates to ensure that ANC obtains outright majority in all 257 local municipalities including metro councils.
She said despite the ups and downs, bad publicity and corruption allegations that continue to follow the party, the ANC is still the best option.
“Workers would be the biggest losers should the ANC lose. We cannot put our support on the opposition party that has no record of having worker’s interests at heart” she said.
