29 years old Zimbabwean woman who dipped her newborn baby inside boiling water abandones bail

A 29 years old Zimbabwean woman who was arrested earlier this week has decided to abandone bail at Brits Magistrates Court.

It is said according to reports by the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) that Wendy Tapiwa Chipo allegedly killed her newborn baby just after giving birth.

Chipo gave birth to the baby in her home with her friend beside her and later on dipped the baby inside a 20L of boiling water and later on buried the baby in a shallow grave in the nearby bush where she stays at Sunnyway Village in Rietfontein.

She then asked her friend to not tell anyone about what she had done. But few days later the friend decided to go report the matter to the police after feeling unease.

Upon investigation, police found the said corpse in a shallow grave Chipo was arrested on March 18 2021, allegedly running to Tshwane.

The matter has been postponed to May 14 for further investigations.
