Young man gets life term for assaulting an old lady

A 26 years old man has been sentenced to life sentence for raping a 66 years old woman after assaulting and stealing her money and cell phone.
NPA Spokesperson in the North West Henry Mamothame said that Cornelius Sedumoeng approached the victim’s home on October 21st, 2021 in the early morning hours.
Upon arrival he began to assault the old lady, raped her and fled the scene with the above mentioned items belonging to her.
Fortunate enough for the lady, she managed to recognize him and informed his parents.
He admitted to committing the crime and was later on arrested.
Surprisingly, he pleaded not guilty but was denied bail.
A further 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances was added to the life term.
