Education MEC to visit poor performing schools in Marapyane and Nokaneng Circuit

Following poor performance of class of 2022 grade 12 learners in Nkangala District, Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality, Mpumalanga Education MEC Bonakele Majuba is set to pay schools in the area a visit today to speak with the current learners.

In a statement released by his office on Wednesday, Majuba is expected to visit schools under Marapyane and Nokaneng Circuits.

They performed below 70%.

“Any school within the province that performs below 70% pass rate is deemed to be underperforming and dysfunctional. Every effort and support is offered by the department to encourage all the role-players to turn the tide around in the best interest of learners performance.”

“The Province intends to improve the Grade 12 results to 83% this time around and has already started to work collaboratively with all relevant sectors and institutions to ensure that schools are supported towards the realization of the set goals” said the MEC.

Among other dignitaries, he will also be joined Executive Mayor in Dr JS Moroka. The visit will start at 09:00am in the first school.
