Father sentenced to two life terms for poisoning his two sons

Pretoria High Court has now handed down double life sentence for Dannyboy Fistos Khumalo for killing his two sons in 2020.
The 38 years old Khumalo was arrested on May 18th 2020 following a thorough investigation by the police after initially lying on May 15th that his 11 and 12 years old sons drank a rat poison and died as a result.
An inquest docket was then open a day later after the corpses of both the deceased were found at Valkop Plot in the vicinity of Assen near Brits.
It was then through investigations which later on revealed that the father had in fact poisoned the children.
Police Spokesperson in the area Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said that the convict had been under police custody since his arrest.
He was sentenced to two life imprisonment for two counts of murder and three years for defeating the ends of justice, which will run concurrently.
