Western Cape Widens Gap Between Gauteng in Higher Covid-19 Infections

Western Cape rapidly overtakes Gauteng in number of confirmed Covid-19 cases with almost 50% of the country’s infections claimed in the province.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections as announced on Saturday has since increased to 9,420, with eight new deaths, as the Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has announced.

“The number of confirmed cases per provinces are now: WC- 4809, NC-28, EC-1078, KZN 1308, FS-134, NW-41, GP-1910, MP-61,Limpopo-51. Regrettably there have been 8deaths reported today, bring the total deaths to 186” said the minister.

The minister continued saying that as they are trying to gain full control of the spread, they total number of 324 079 tests that were conducted.

About 3983 people are confirmed to have recovered.
