TMPD Officers Arrested for Extorting Bribes from Motorists

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) officers set to end their festive holidays on much sad note after being arrested for extorting bribes from fellow motorists on the road.

The two officers were arrested late Sunday night.

Road and Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula said earlier today that it a sting operation led to the arrest of two Tshwane Metro Police (TMPD) officers for alleged bribery and corruption.

Officers who are both 33, were arrested by National Traffic Anti-Corruption Unit officers and the Hawks and are expected to make an appearance in court today.
