Taxi association chairperson gunned down in Siyabuswa

Yet another taxi association has been gunned down in Siyabuswa B Mpumalanga, this past Saturday afternoon.

Although this is yet to be officially confirmed, this is suspected to be one of the taxi fights that occurs in rival associations.

The victim was identified by his family as Mr Rooi Isaac Mahlangu (Rodger Ntuli), aged 58 who was the Chairperson of a Taxi Association in Kwamhlanga.

It is said according to the information given by police Spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala that on the said fateful day about three armed men emerged from nowhere and randomly shot at the victim before they fled the scene on foot. The emergency personnel were informed about the incident the arrival where they took the victim to a nearby hospital but unfortunately the man succumbed to the injuries.

Police at Siyabuswa have now opened a murder case and during their preliminary investigation, they discovered cartridges at the scene where the shooting took place.

They have also asked public assistance in locating and apprehending the suspects involved.
