Russia announces first ever Covid-19 vaccine

Russian President Vladimir Putin says his country Russia, has finally registered world first Covid-19 vaccine.

Putin said this through a video conference where he also said that the manufacturing of the vaccine can be expected after a third phase.

“This morning, for the first time in the world, a vaccine against the new coronavirus was registered” in Russia, he said during a televised video conference call with government ministers.

He also said that one of his daughters was one of the patients up for vaccine trial testings.

This comes at a time when Russia is reported to have nearly 900,000 Covid-19 cases, which is said to be the fourth-most confirmed cases in the world.
