President Matamela Ramaphosa together with his team of ministers paid a visit to two of the biggest churches in Southern Africa to thank them for their continued cooperation with government in helping fight covid-19.

Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu said the visit to ZCC bishops both St Engenas and Bishop Barnabas Lekganyane went smooth and as planned.

Accompanied by Limpopo Premier Stan Mathabatha, the leadership thanked both churches for agreeing to postpone Easter gathering and fully following all the regulations outlined by the President.

They also asked the churches to include them and the country in their prayers to help fight the disease and bring peace.

“President explained to the Bishop that the second reason for our visit was to brief the church about where we are on the lockdown. The third was to get any advice that the church might have for government. The last reason for the visit was to get prayers from the church” said Mr Mthembu.
