“Of the 36 dead in Phoenix massacre 2 were burned to death”

A #FreeJacobZuma protest that was hijacked by opportunistic scenes of unrest in Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal which many parts of the mentioned province up in flames left many families with a permanent scar.

The unrest which mostly emanated from on the N3 road where trucks were burned to ashes and motor vehicles demolished, saw some residents coming out of their houses to protect their properties.

Community members in Phoenix in Durban armed themselves in an attempt to protect their properties but their made a room killings which were one sided and various members of the who are African natives alleged that they were victimised and harassed because of their skin colour.

Their claims were supported by various social media videos where various community members of Indian descendent were seen assaulting and interrogating people accusing them of looting and being criminals.

This led to a number of them being killed as a result.

Police Minister Bheki Cele said late Tuesday morning that they can confirm that 36 people died in that area, Phoenix.

“The events in Phoenix, which I have outlined, have claimed the lives of 36 people.”

“Our investigations show that 30 of those who were killed, were shot.”

“Two were burnt to death.”

“One was stabbed and another was run over by a motor vehicle.”

“Two others died from the brutal injuries they sustained after being assaulted” said Minister Cele.
