Murder case against four suspects postponed in Ga-Rankuwa

One of the four murder suspects from Klipgat in the North West is set to spend yet another month in police custody after abandoning bail following a short appearance at Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates Court.

19 years old Arthur Khoza, 22 years old Thato Masetla, 21 years old Junior Modise and Mahlatsi Nkuna also 21 years old are accused of killing and burning Sam Mbatha beyond recognition in his vehicle in a soccer field in Ikageng.

Only three of these suspects appeared in court as Modise is still at large. Khoza and Nkuna are both out on R 500 bail.

The said suspects were linked to the crime following a thorough search and investigations by the police where a suspected murder weapon was also discovered together with several bloodstains.

The Director of Public Prosecutions in the North West is in the process of finalising the transfer of the case to the High Court of South Africa; North West Division, owing to the serious nature of the offence committed.

The case was postponed to May 17, 2022.
