Mpumalanga Education MEC Majuba urges parents to accompany children when they collect their matric results this coming Tuesday for support

With just two days before 2020 matric results release, Mpumalanga Education MEC Mr Bonakele Majuba has urged parents to to be a pillar of strength for their children during this tough time.
He urged parents to accompany their children to schools when they collect their results this coming Tuesday for moral support.
He was saying this in a statement released by his office where he confirmed that all systems are in place for the Department of Education in the province to release the 2020 Grade 12 National Senior Certificate and Senior Certificate Examination Results.
“Parents of candidates are requested to accompany their children to collect statements of results from their respective schools.”
“The presence of parents will assist learners with parental support while at the same time it will afford schools an opportunity to interact and advice them on the course of action to be undertaken.”
He said that there were 93 000 candidates who registered to write the 2020 NSC and SC Examination, a figure that constitutes the highest number in the history of these examinations.
“The Department remains hopeful of a good learner performance in these examinations as in 2019, Mpumalanga Province obtained an 80.3% pass rate.”
He will announce the results at the University of Mpumalanga on Tuesday, 23 February 2021 from 09H00.
In adherence to the National State of Disaster related to the management of COVID-19 attendance will only be limited to 50 guests most of whom will be top learners and members of the media.
The event will be broadcast live on Ikwekwezi FM, Rise FM, Radio Pulpit and 15 Community Radio Stations as well as streamed live on the Departmental Social Media Platforms and on Channel N TV Facebook Page.
