Grade 6 learner passes away after JoJo tank falls on her in Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga Department of Education has confirmed the passing away of a grade 6 learner in Bankfontein Combined School in the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, Nkangala District this morning after a Jojo tank fell on her in the school premises.

The departments’ spokesperson Jasper Zwane said that the MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba learned about the sad incident and has already mandated the Department to institute an investigation into the matter.

He is also set to visit the school and the bereaved family to pay his respect to the late learner and to convey his condolences Thursday morning.

“We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate passing on of our grade 6 learner at Bankfontein Combined School . I wish to express our deepest condolences to the bereaved parents and the family as well as the Bankfontein School Community for this loss of a young life. May Her Soul Rest in Peace,” said MEC Majuba.
