It is a court appearance today of a man who killed a 7 month old baby in Limpopo earlier this week.
Police say the killing of the toddler came when the said suspect started a fight with his neighbours about their children, that is a quarrel erupted and a fight broke out.
The man fought with the deceased toddler’s mother and her daughter physically.
The police spokesperson in the area Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says that the man then allegedly went back to his house where he came with a pick handle to assault the woman who was at the time holding the baby.
“That is when the suspect used the pick handle to assault the mother of the victim, unfortunately the female victim was carrying the baby. The suspect assaulted the toddler accidentally.”
Colonel added that the baby was taken to Nkhensani hospital for medical treatment and later transferred to Letaba hospital where she lost her life.
The man was arrested two days later after a case docket of assault Gbh was registered at Giyani and later changed to murder.
