As the government struggles to deal with the devastating scenes of floods in the country since this past weekend, KwaZulu Natal seems to be most hardest hit.
The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal said that 45 people have been killed by the floods since the heavy rainfall started.
While other parts of the country managed to get a bit of sunshine as the rains either stopped or decreased, KZN continued to get rainy showers which also saw several properties being destroyed.
The floods saw roads closures in several low-lying parts of the province where some roads got damaged and some cars were washed away.
The impact also affected schooling as many learners got prevented from going to schools.
The provincial government however, said that deaths as a result of the flooding could be higher.
They added that they are working with law enforcement agencies and other social partners to provide support to the affected.
