Suspects linked to a tarven shooting in KZN abandons bail

Suspects allegedly involved in the shooting at a tarven in Sweetwaters in KZN which left 4 people dead and other injured have abandoned bail in their brief second court appearance.

Bonginkosi Zaca (27), Thembinkosi Malevu (23), Melizwe Mjwara (22) and Sabelo Mabaso (36), appeared the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday for formal bail hearing to which they abandoned.

The shooting incident followed many other shootings that occurred in several tarvens in Gauteng leaving several people dead and others injured.

These suspects face four counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of ammunition.

The matter has been postponed to September 20 for further investigations.
