A 47 years old father is set to make a second appearance at the Klerksdorp Magistrates Court on May 26th, 2021 on alleged kidnapping and murder charges of his two years old daughter.
The man from Alabama near Klerksdorp who is yet to be named made his first appearance after a lifeless body of the toddler was found inside the ceiling of his residential home.
NPA Spokesperson in the area Henry Mamothame said that the man allegedly went to his girlfriend’s home on May 13th 2021 in Jourbeton where he took their daughter without the mother’s consent as she was in hospital at the time.
It is said that the deceased toddler was at her maternal family’s care at the time when he took the toddler but he later on denied having taken the child.
“On May 14th when the mother got discharged from hospital, she went on a search for the baby with the help of family members but they could not find her. The following day, she went to Jourbeton Police Station where a case of a missing person was opened.”
Mamothame added that the father was arrested two days later after failing to tell the police the whereabouts of the child.
The child was only discovered by neighbors on the 17th of May following a bad smell that was coming from the house where the child’s lifeless body was hidden.
