Cash delivery vehicle robber found guilty

A 34 years old man Dumisani Sibiya who was arrested in connection with the robbery of a cash delivery vehicle is set to remain in police custody following a brief court appearance.

It is said according to Hawks Spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi that a Fidelity AV arrived at the Horn of Africa General Dealer at around 14:50 in Tonga to collect cash. They were then approached by five armed men who not only robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money, they also robbed them of their firearms.

“The suspects were shooting randomly as they were running away from the crime scene.”

“Information was received of the whereabouts of the suspect an a warrant of arrest was issued and executed for him to be arrested” said Captain Sekgotodi.

Several other items including a Toyota Hilux allegedly used to commit the crime were recovered during his arrest.

He will remain in Police custody pending formal bail application on May 20, 2022.
