Frequent service delivery protests and daily complaints about the lack competency by the African National Congress (ANC) does not reflect the voters confidence in the governing party.

This is clearly reflected in the recent by-election results since the first one last month following Covid-19 lockdown where the party also became the biggest winner.

Results clearly shows that people still believe the ANC is their party of choice and this is also shown by the 24 by-elections held across 17 municipalities in all nine provinces on 9 December 2020 where the party once again became the biggest winner.

The ANC managed to retain 12 of their wards lost 1 and won 5 new wards while the Democratic Alliance once again became the biggest loser after losing 2 wards and retaining 6.
