It seems like the prophetic powers and prayers of “the major 1” as popularly known in his congregation, Shepperd Bushiri and his wife Mary Bushiri have gone AWOL for the past two weeks as the couple fails to secure a bail yet again.

The self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri, his wife Mary and three other co-accused will spend second weekend at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre following a postponement on the decision of bail application by the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

The court heard on Friday how the couple have lied to the authorities about their stay in the country and their visas.

They are facing charges of money laundering, theft and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act involving money amounting to R 102million.

State prosecutor said that the release of the said accused would cause an uproar in public order or undermine the peace and security as they are also said to be flight risks.

They also accused them of intimidating and bribing witnesses by paying them up to R500,000.00.

It was also alleged that the couple have been in and out of the country illegally on numerous occasions and they have also transported a Bentley and Maserati to their home country Malawi illegally.
