Following numerous media reports of no salary to late payments by the African National Congress (ANC) to their staff members, the liberation movement has decided to resort to crowdfunding to keep afloat.

The over a century old political party has confirmed through a media statement that due to financial difficulties they have now decided to call on their supporters and members of the community to help by paying a donation in their FNB account.

“The crowdfunding is aimed at mobilizing supporters and ANC members to participate in funding ANC programmes and activities.”

“The ANC crowdfunding came into effect on 12 August 2021 to encourage ANC members and supporters to make donations into a centralized and single account” said the ANC through a statement.

The party has also found itself facing backlash following a protest by staff members who alleged that they had not been paid their salaries and they were not given satisfactory explanation to their complaints.
