Enraged by the longevity of the gun charge court case, EFF leader Julius Malema lashed out at the judge presiding over the matter calling her incompetent.

Malema expressed his dissatisfaction about the alleged poor preparation by the judge on the case even though it has been going on for years. He also once lashed out in court when she came more than 30 minutes late to the court.

An organization called Judges Matter issued a statement demanding an apology from Malema for the words uttered towards the judge.

They said the attack on the judge threatens the judiciary taking into consideration that he is also one of the Commissioners responsible for the appointment of Judges.

“Judges Matter condemns, in the strongest terms, the comments made by … Mr Julius Malema, accusing Magistrate Twanet Olivier of corruption and incompetence without any substantiation. This is an attack on the judiciary, a threat to judicial independence, and almost certainty a violation of the Constitution … ” said the organization.

Malema responded by saying he is not scared of any judge and he will continue to express his opinion.

“They are not Gods”.
