Tension among the governing party African National Congress (ANC) leaders seems to be thickening day by day as senior members take some of their frustrations and differences publicly in the media.

This follows a recent outburst by the Roads and Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula who has been trending in the media about the former President Jacob Zuma saying he is the worst mistake the ANC has ever made and he ruined the government during his tenure.

Minister Mbalula was also recently interviewed by a 24hour news channel Newzroom Afrika where said former leaders and cadres were wrong in associating the party with the fugitives, the Guptas.

“We warned at some point that Guptas are going to cause us a crisis in this country. The leadership did not listen. Today we must defend the same leadership. We can’t.”

He also said that if speaking the truth means him getting fired let it be but he cannot defend wrong things in the name of comradeship.
