VW Polo Collides with A Minibus Taxi in Mmametlhake Leaving Passengers with Injuries

Police are a investigating a fatal car and mini bus taxi crash that occurred in Mmametlhake.

The crash happened earlier today where a middle aged man driving with an 8 years old boy in a VW Polo collided head on with a quantum at an intersection about 500m away from Mmametlhake Hospital.

Both passengers and the taxi driver were rushed to the nearby hospital while driver of a Polo and the young boy were airlifted due to serious injuries that needed serious medical attention.

Police say they are yet to discover the cause of the accident pending further investigations.

Speaking to Mmametlhake SAPS Communications Officer Sgt Matemane she said this is a very unfortunate incident that happened during a time where people should be enjoying holidays with their loved ones.

“Accidents can happen to anyone anytime but we always urge people to always follow the rules & laws of the road and not be taken by the festive season mood”

She also added by urging people to be safe during festive season.

“As SAPS we will always do our work, serve and protect but the community need to also work with us by being responsible”
