Court appearance of two suspects alleged to be between 41 and 51 years who were caught in possession of lion paws trying to sell them in Rusternburg.
The suspects were arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation assisted by members of Crime Intelligence in a sting operation on Monday after being informed about the suspects.
An official then went undercover pretending to be a buyer where an offer of R 300 000.00 for these lion paws was made to him.
Suspects are set to face charges of contravening the National Environment Management-Biodiversity (NEMBA) Act at Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
