Three learners die due to road accidents in Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga Department of Education has sent their deepest condolences to families of three learners who lost their lives on the roads due to motor vehicle accidents on different occasions in Bushbuckridge.
The office of the MEC said that that the two accidents happened on the R40 where in one of the accidents a Grade 11 boy learner from Masilela Secondary School lost his life this past Tuesday morning, 16 May.
They said the incident occurred in Drwaarsloop, Bushbuckridge local municipality.
An incident report said that the learner was crossing but distracted by the truck which was blocking his view on the bakkie coming from behind it and subsequently hit him.
In another separate incident, a taxi was trying to overtake another motor vehicle but unfortunately lost control and hit four learners who were walking on the side of the road.
Two of them succumbed to the injuries sustained.
The office also wish a speedy recover to another learner who is a victim of a hit and run which occurred later in the afternoon where a car knocked down a girl learner who was taken to Mapulaneng Hospital and is currently receiving medical attention.
