Teenager helps neighbour to give birth

A 19 matric learner has been praised by the Department of Education in the Northern Caoe for helping her neighbour give birth.

In an interview conducted with the SABC, Marelize Perry from De Aar in Northern Cape said this was not the first time she helped someone give birth, she also helped her aunt to give birth in 2021.

She said that risky as it was, she had to act because the woman said she could not take it anymore and the baby was on it’s way.
