Basic Education Spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga has confirmed that schools from all levels, both primary, secondary and high school will now move to full time learning as opposed to rotational learning like before.

This follows a National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) special cabinet meeting that was held Monday evening together with the President’s Coordinating Council (PCC) where they also decided to move the country to alert level 1 Covid-19 regulations.

The NCCC said they came to this decision based on the information gathered by the Department of Health which found that South Africa has officially exited fourth wave nationally.

Having resumed fulltime learning, 1metre social distancing in schools will also be removed according to Mr Mhlanga.
