Bad month yet again for motorists as fuel price is set to increase again as of this Wednesday.

This according to a statement that was recently released by the Department of Mineral Resources which said that the rand is having tough time against the dollar.

β€œIn line with the provisions of the self-adjusting slate levy mechanism, a slate levy of 30.70c/l (decrease of 13.16c/l) will have to be implemented in the price structures of petrol and diesel with effect from February 2 2022,” said the department.

95 unleaded will now cost R20.14 while 93 will R19.89 in Gauteng.

This is as Gauteng sees the wholesale price of high 500 ppm of diesel which will rise to R18.05.

Wholesale illuminating paraffin is also expected to increase by about R1.01 per litre and the single maximum retail selling price of illuminating paraffin will increase by R1.35 per litre.
