Health Department records 831 new cases and 14 more deaths reported over the past 24 hours, taking new number of cases to 14 355.
Of the numbers that were reported, the department announced recoveries now at 6478.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said despite the numbers going up they continue to work hard to flatten the curve.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your tenacity, stoicism and true partnership with government. Together we succeeded in flattening the curve, which facilitated ramping up and cohesion of our health care system as well as preparation of our spaces as we resume our economic and social development,” said Mkhize.
The Western Cape still continues to take the lead with almost 60% of confirmed cases and Northern Cape capturing the lowest at 0.2%, 35 cases.
The Western Cape also recorded highest number of recoveries as well as deaths.
