The ANC in Parliament has defended their president Matamela Ramaphosa from being held accountable in Parliament yesterday during a sitting.

The National Assembly held a session yesterday debates before going on a vote for the Parliament to either adopt the Section 89 report or not.

The session went to make headlines after few other MPs voted for the adoption of the report while majority of the party members voted against it.

That is with NEC member Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma being the first ANC member voting for the adoption of the report which saw the Parliament roaring with applause from opposition members saying she did the right thing.

Dlamini-Zuma was one of the ANC members who when the report was released called for the president to follow the party’s “step aside rule” and let the processes take place.

The party won with 214 no votes against 148 yes votes and 5 abstaining.
