Following recent developments of the third wave of Covid-19 infections, it has been exactly two weeks since President Matamela Ramaphosa has addressed the nation.

As a result of new wave of infections that were jumping to over 21K daily infections, South Africa was moved to alert level 4 national lockdown.

The Presidency has now confirmed that President Ramaphosa will be addressing the nation today on the developments following a meeting with National Covid-19 Command Council (NCCC) earlier today.

Speculations have been suggesting that the country either remain in alert level 4 lockdown or be moved to level 5 national lockdown.

This is because the country has been recording over 21 000 daily cases for the past week.

He will be addressing the nation at 20:00, the national broadcaster SABC is expected to bring the live coverage from the Union Building.
