Premier Makhura launches a district hospital transformed from a clinic

Gauteng Premier David Makhura together with acting health MEC Jacob Mamabolo and infrastructure MEC Tasneem Motara have launched what the premier calls “one of the Covod-19 legacies” at Lenasia.

Makhura launched Lenasia South District Hospital which been upgraded from a Community Health Centre (CHC) to a 103-bedded hospital on Friday.

He said that the hospital is set to receive an increased number of healthcare personnel as well as the equipment.

“This hospital is getting a state-of-the-art X-ray machine which will serve the people of the South of Lenasia. We are continuing with improving the capacity of our healthcare facilities.”

“It boasts various services; Accident and Emergency, Out Patient Department, Maternal and Neonatal Services, Chronic Care, Radiology Services, among others” said Makhura.
