Owner of a nightclub Blackdoor Lifestyle Lounge in Sandton is set to be charged after the establishment was raided by the police early Sunday midnight.

The sting of operation which found numbers of party goers exceeding required number under lockdown, was led by Gauteng Community Safety MEC Faith Mazibuko accompanied by Police Minister Bheki Cele.

Minister Cele said that one of the things that had him greatly concerned was behaviour by party goers which seems like they had no regard for Covid-19 all together considering the that none of them was socially distancing and not even single one was wearing a mask.

The club also went beyond the Covid-19 curfew. The owner will be charged with contravention of the Disaster Management Act.
