600 Police Officers Recover from Covid-19 while 14 Lose the Battle

With a number of essential workers Covid-19 infections on rise, police officers are also not spared from the virus.

Police Minister Bheki Cele says that they have lost 14 police officers to the virus and now left with 1 685 infections that were confirmed.

The epicentre of the virus Western Cape recorded 1 134 followed by Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal.

Cele said these words over the weekend and added that they have recorded 600 officers who have recovered from the virus.

Doing an assessment in Soweto to see if people are still adhering to the level 3 lockdown regulations he applauded those who seen following the rules.

He also condemned the brutal killing of two women in a Gender based Violence (GBV) one which grabbed the headlines was that of the 28 years old Tshegofatso Pule who was found hanged on a tree with stab wounds and was 8 months pregnant.
