Police Confiscate Alcohol Worth Half a Million Enforcing Lockdown Regulations

As stipulated by by Police Minister Bheki Cele when announcing regulations to be followed during this national lockdown, it was said loud and clear that no trader will be allowed to sell alcohol during this 21 days lockdown.

Not even big retailers will be allowed to sell alcohol, even cigarette is not allowed to be sold.

Enforcing lockdown regulations, Cape Town Metro Police have confiscated and alcohol worth half a million (R 500 000) and have also arrested the owner of the shop.

This was after officers received a tipoff about a boot bar selling alcohol.

They then found the vehicle, chased down & arrested 2 suspects. The pair led officers to a nearby tavern where 3 were arrested in Dunoon, Cape Town.
