Following rumors of some ANC branches having nominated billionaire Petrice Motsepe for the position of ANC president in the 55th National Conference next month, the businessman has decided to clear the air.
He cleared the air in an interview with SABC after a meeting with Traditional and Religious leaders in Sandton where he said he’d rather stick to business instead of politics.
“It’s important for people like myself, in particular, to keep focussing on the things that bring us together across political parties and across backgrounds that we come from. And keep away from politics, because if you participate in politics you lose the focus, you lose the broader obligation.”
He said that wouldn’t want to lose focus by stepping into politics.
It is said that the idea to have elected as the preferred candidate for the next president of the organization was to save the party from dying by bringing in someone with a good history and track record.
