Mother seen stomping and kicking her child released on bail

Following an outcry on social media for the arrest of a woman seen kicking and stomping on her 1 year old toddler, Gauteng Social Development MEC Mbali Hlophe has confirmed that they have located the mother and the child.
The mother was immediately arrested on the spot while the toddler was taken to a place of safety before going for precautionary medical examination.
The woman known as Nthabiseng Nhlapo on Twitter, allegedly sent a video[not for sensitive viewers] of her abusing the toddler the father.
It is said that they had been fighting for quite some time and another video surfaced showing the woman accusing the supposed father of the child of abusing her throughout her pregnancy and she was tired of the abuse.
MEC Hlophe said the mother was released on bail and is set to make another appearance on Thursday.
“Saturday, 05 August 2023 the father of the toddler brought the matter to theattention of the Nordwood PoliceStation. A case of Assault GBH wasregistered and the matter wasimmediately transferred to the FamilyViolence, Child Protection, SexualInvestigations (FCS) Unit.”
“The mother appeared before the JohannesburgMagistrate Court on Monday, 07 August 2023.The mother was released and matternot placed on the court roll as the SAPS was instructed to first collect both cellphones of both parents for further investigation.The SAPS has already begun with processing of the cellphone’s concerned.”
